

Angie
Hong, MT-BC, was raised in Atlanta, Georgia. When considering a career in
piano performance or medicine, a professor suggested music therapy as a
perfect combination of the two. As a result, Angie decided to major in music
therapy at the University of Georgia. After earning degrees in both music
therapy and piano performance, she completed her internship at the Cleveland
Music School Settlement.
Her clientele included Palliative Care patients at the Cleveland Clinic and a variety of clients in the Cleveland community. She continued to work there after her internship, working primarily with prek-12 grades in the schools. She also participated in a multi-site research study involving infants in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
Christina
L. Watson, MT-BC, is a graduate of the University of Kansas, and has
a bachelor’s degree in music therapy. Her professors awarded
her the E. Thayer Gaston Award of excellence in music therapy upon
completion of her coursework. After completing an internship working
with adolescents and adults with neurological disorders at The Institute
for Rehabilitation and Research in the Houston, Texas Medical Center,
Christina received her board certification in music therapy (CBMT). Christina
joined The Carolina Center for Music Therapy, LLC in 2007 and now works
with adults with brain injury, children and adolescents with special
needs in the Chapel Hill and Durham school districts and adolescents
and adults with developmental disabilities.
Erika
Pawlowski earned her Bachelor of Music Therapy, Bachelor of Music in
Music Education and a Psychology minor from Radford University in 2000.
Erika graduated with a 4.0 GPA from Muskingum College in June of 2007,
earning a Master of Arts in Education as an Intervention Specialist:
Mild to Moderate. She has also completed Kindermusik training, and is
a member of many national organizations including the American Music
Therapy Association and the Music Educators National Conference.
Erika has presentation experience at both the local and the state level
regarding both music education and music therapy. Her previous work experience
includes providing music therapy services for children with special
needs at a therapy camp in Michigan. From 2000-2006, Erika was an
elementary music teacher for Cambridge City Schools in Cambridge, Ohio.
Erika joined the staff at the Cambridge Area YMCA Family Center in March,
2007 as the Creative Activities Director and an Administrative Associate.
While at the YMCA, she developed and implemented music programs for children
1-12 years of age. She also started a teen leadership program for
9th and 10th graders. Erika also had administrative responsibilities
such as daily deposits, billing statements, overseeing the front desk,
and other customer service duties.
Currently Erika provides music therapy services primarily for students in the Durham Public schools and at Frankie Lemmon Preschool. She also facilitates the Music & Me classes for parents and their children to participate in together. She is currently working towards her certification as a Developmental Therapist.
Sabina Barton received her Bachelor's and Master's degree in Music
Therapy from The Florida State University. She has had the opportunity
to work with all age groups, including children with special
needs, in a medical music therapy setting at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital
in Tallahassee, Florida. In addition to being a board certified
music therapist, Sabina is also NICU certified, and through multimodal
stimulation, has used music to assist premature infants. She
has recently moved to Durham, North Carolina from Orlando, Florida to
become a part of The Carolina Center for Music Therapy team.
When not practicing Music Therapy, Sabina enjoys watching moves, reading,
biking, and playing with her cocker spaniel, Franklin. She also
loves songwriting.
